Harris Maps on Exhibit!
  • Photos of two of the world maps in the Harris Maps Collection were on display at the Capital Museum in Beijing until May 27, 2011 in an exhibit organized by The University of Melbourne, Australia titled: “Trepang: China & the Story of Macassan-Aboriginal Trade.”
     

  • The exhibition is now on display at the Melbourne Museum in Australia from July 23 – Oct. 17, 2011
     

  • Next the exhibition will move to the Museum and Art Gallery of the Northern Territory in 2012.

    (In a book titled Trepang: China & the Story of Macassan-Aboriginal Trade by Professor Marcia Langton she includes photos of the two Harris Maps in the exhibit.)

Charlotte is currently far along on a book which explains compelling information found on the maps of the
Dr. Hendon M. Harris, Jr. Map Collection. Current plans are that when this book is released, all the pictures of all the maps in the collection will be publicly shown for the first time

Charlotte has previously spoken at numerous locations including the Library of Congress, the University of London, the University of Maryland, City University of NY, Portland State University, Stanford University, China Institute NYC, and Simon Fraser, Vancouver, BC. Her book Secret Maps of the Ancient World was listed in fall 2008 as a new publication by WCILCOS (The World Confederation of Institutes and Libraries for Chinese Overseas Studies.) This book appeared in March 2009 at the National Library Show for American College and Research Libraries in Seattle, at the London (England) Book Fair in April 2009, and at the book fair of the American Library Association in Chicago in July 2009.
